Tue, Sep 29, 2020 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM EDT
The Center for Sustainable Landscapes (CSL) at Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens was designed to be one of the most sustainable buildings in the world and has been certified Living Building Challenge, LEED Platinum, SITES Platinum and WELL Platinum. When it came to operations, Phipps decided to pursue BREEAM, the world’s most widely used sustainability assessment method for buildings. Richard Piacenti and Meghan Scanlon from Phipps will highlight the successes and challenges to managing building sustainability performance and explain why Phipps sees certification as an important aspect of building management. Kathy Hrabovsky from 3R Sustainability and Julia Craighill from Ensight Consulting will explain how Consultants and Assessors fit into the BREEAM In-Use process and how the certification process worked.
