Project Description:

3R Sustainability was hired by a global financial information company to assist in conducting stakeholder engagement, identifying its Materiality Matrix, establishing a prioritized sustainability action plan, developing its EcoVadis submission, and creating GRI/SASB/SDG Tables to supplement its reporting.

3R was also engaged to assist with the client’s Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) full submission. As part of that submission, a Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG Inventory was developed for FY2019. The inventory covered over 45 sites across the world. During the data collection process, 3R identified gaps in utility bills for various sites and established conservative estimates for energy use based on regionally specific benchmarking data. Results were verified by a registrar to be compliant with ISO 14064.

3R developed an educational program and designed a data collection template to allow the company to continue to maintain its own inventory with minimal additional consulting. Upon completion of data collection, 3R worked with the client to set measurable and realistic goals for its environmental, social, and governance impacts. Informed by various stakeholder engagements and determination of the most material and value-add impacts, these goals were accompanied by an action plan to best position the client for continual improvement on its sustainability assessments and in its operations.

A Phase 2 Scope of Work has been established to provide additional assistance for next year’s reporting and EcoVadis and CDP submissions as the company wants to expand its emissions reporting to include Scope 3 emissions.
