3R Sustainability (3R), as a subsidiary of SRI Quality System Registrar (SRI), has been named a Best For The World: [Workers] Honoree by B lab. Every year, B lab recognizes the top-performing B Corps creating the greatest impact through their businesses. Earning a score in the top 10% of all B Corps on the B Impact Assessment in the workers category, 3R is thrilled to be recognized for its dedication to employee health, safety and satisfaction.
3R’s employees have a passion for creating business value through sustainable building and company operations for clients and 3R itself. As a business prolific in assisting other companies achieve their own sustainability goals and certifications, taking the steps to achieve 3R’s B Corp Certification in January 2019, was important to “walk the walk”. The team is elated to receive this high honor after achieving B Corp certification less than one year ago. “We are honored to be recognized with other great companies who are leading the way in corporate responsibility. We are very proud of our team and value the impact they make for our clients every day,” says Jana Lake, 3R President and Chief Sustainability Officer of SRI.
3R believes its employees to be its greatest asset. For that reason, 3R encourages the continual actions of its Health and Wellness Committee and Sustainability Team. Both groups help to encourage daily office walks, complementary fresh fruit and produce in the LEED Gold office’s fully-functioning kitchen, and lunch time games. In addition to numerous employee-run initiatives, 3R offers programs such as “Bring your Baby to Work”, flextime, telecommuting, and compressed work weeks, to help create a healthy work-life balance.
Outside of the workplace, 3R helps its employees make a positive impact in the community in which they work by offering paid volunteer days every quarter. In addition, employees are encouraged to attend and host continuing education programs and community workshops and events on behalf of 3R to foster community development and networks.
Best For The World recognition is administered by B Lab, the global nonprofit that certifies and supports Certified B Corporations, which are for-profit companies dedicated to using business as a force for good. Today there are 3,000 Certified B Corporations across 64 countries and 150 industries, unified by one common goal: to redefine success in business. B Lab named 1,000 B Corps from 44 countries to the 2019 Best For The World lists, including Patagonia, Beautycounter, Dr. Bronner’s, TOMS, Seventh Generation, and Greyston Bakery.
